What We Do

Tangerine Yard is an Ecommerce growth consultancy and European luxury apparel brand founded in London by Preet Jowhal, where memories and stories are brought to life as one-of-a-kind limited edition capsule collections every winter.

The line-up comprises handmade hoodies and sweatshirts - and every single purchase benefits Feeding America and the Global Foodbanking Network.

With each collection release, we aim to donate as many meals as possible to people in need and connect them with global relief networks that help break the cycle of poverty.

Stories give us a glimpse into the worlds of others. They encourage empathy. They comfort us and show us we’re not alone. And they break through all the chaos and noise to make us see each other.

And for us here at Tangerine Yard, every story matters and every voice matters. Our goal is to develop timeless collections which are not only meaningful and inspirational to people and their lives, but also pay it forward to help end the cycle of poverty and empower everyone to live with freedom and shape their own destiny.

We'll publish impact statements for every release AND we'll publish an annual roundup report every December, so you can see exactly how much has been raised, where the funds have been distributed and the direct on-the-ground-impact.

Why Sweatshirts & Hoodies?

Sweatshirts and hoodies are wardrobe essentials in everyone’s closet and can add a pop to any outfit for any time of the day. We may expand our collections in the future (t-shirts for a surprise summer drop anyone…?), but for now our focus is on these wardrobe staples and ensuring that anything we produce and sell is in line with our slow fashion principles…

Slow Fashion Brand

Tangerine Yard is a slow fashion brand. We do our best to create a positive impact on the environment and community. Firstly, we do limited edition drops once a year. Secondly, in an effort to reduce waste, all hoodies, sweatshirts and t-shirts are hand-printed or embroidered to order by our fulfilment partner manufacturing hubs in Los Angeles and Philadelphia. This means that we don’t hold stock and there is no overproduction as every purchase is made to order.

Additionally, we specifically chose our manufacturing partner because their business was built with sustainability at heart and they operate an on-demand lean manufacturing model. They also continue to refine, develop and implement sustainable practices.

Our production process is fully ethical and all garment workers at our fulfilment partner hubs are paid a living wage and work in clean safe facilities. Plus, all the garment workers and staff enjoy paid time off and healthcare benefits.

Each manufacturing facility has implemented corporate social responsibility initiatives, like LED lighting and recycling programs for paper, plastic, and glass. All ink waste is disposed of to meet environmental regulations. We also donate damaged products to charitable organizations for reuse and recycling.

Our fulfilment partner and manufacturer source products and fabrics such as organic cotton, airlume ringspun cotton, hemp and recycled polyester and inks from ethical, eco-friendly brands and suppliers who comply with labour, environmental, and safety standards. Additionally, our partner confirms that they source not only from eco-friendly suppliers but ethical companies who comply with all labour laws and provide certifications of such compliance with ethical standards within their supply chain.

Our partner also confirms that fabrics sourced and used are vegan and cruelty free.

Also, we try to do our best to minimize waste in packaging and source eco-friendly packaging materials. Many of our packaging materials are either recyclable or biodegradable. Bubble wraps are made from a minimum of 15% recycled plastic and 10% post-consumer content. The kraft tubes are made from 70-100% post-consumer recycled content and 0-30% secondary recycled content. The poly bags used in the packaging are recyclable, low-density polyethylene, FDA and USDA compliant.

Also, we've just been informed by our manufacturer that they are dramatically reducing the use of clear poly bags as part of the order fulfillment process to reduce plastic consumption. Please read more about the latest update on our FAQs page here.

Additionally, whilst we are a premium apparel brand, we want to be part of the fight to look after the planet and leave it in a better place for the next generation. So whilst we all love a good unboxing experience that makes you feel ZIGAZIG AHH; we've opted for minimum unbranded packaging using recycled materials wherever possible to avoid additional waste.

We always welcome feedback and invite you to join in the conversation here.

About CEO & Founder Preet Jowhal

Artist, designer and brand marketer Preet Jowhal is the founder of this shindig, known for laughing at the most inappropriate time, never being without her hot pink MINA lip gloss and making the best sausage patties in Surrey*.  Every drop concept, print and graphic you see in our collections is dreamed up and hand drawn by Preet and behind every design there is a meaningful message, memory and story.

After 16 years’ experience using art, design and storytelling to build global brands (from Diesel and Turkish Airlines to Adidas, Loewe, H&M, Kenzo, Nike, The Good Egg and Desigual) and attaining revenues of $300M+; it took a lost fiancé (don’t worry he’s FINE), her Dadi’s** brutal truth bombs and deathbed bucket list to wake up, book a flight to Istanbul (a story for another day because we’re short on time and someone somewhere has a garlic focaccia in the oven right?) and finally take the leap.

To do that thing she’d always dreamed of doing but kept putting off to one day. But not this time. She decided to jump with both arms in the air and finally… her own clothing line, Tangerine Yard was born.

*Seriously, email her for the secret ingredients and see what happens to your patty game…

**Dadi: (/da-dee/), noun: paternal grandmother in Hindi. Prone to serious bouts of emotional blackmail. Makes the best parathas.
